Where do I go to buy a nice new aluminium radiator ? Mine has sprung a leak and something a bit more effective may be a better option than fixing the standard one.

Recore... 1.5 four core is the way to go and only half the cost.

I also got a quote from leven to fit the rad, over £200!!! Don't think so, fitted it myself in the end, was easy to do.

Having felt the weight of mine and compared it with the plastic and ally one on my E39 I reckon the Griff would wheelie without the weight of the std one over the noseyes

Another thumbup here for Radtec Ali rads...Just make sure it is properly fitted, as I have heard a number of people moan about them leaking or splitting not long after fitting them. I've had mine for 3 years now and its still as good as new (had mine fitted by Dulfords).

ETA I think the Leven one is a Radtec?

yes Does the job , it's way cheaper than an alloy one and the cooling efficiency is on a par.

true enough biggrin

Per notes above, the rad fitted by Leven is the Radtec one

And yes, I know it's early morning - just watched the F1 qualifying - excellent result for Brawn (subject to their diffuser I guess) - let's hope for some good racing tomorrow!

It may be as efficient, but the alloy one looks much, much better under the bonnet. You can even see with the bonnet closed, just!

That may be the case if your into the Bling....!

Anyway....I removed the old chicken wire grill and replaced it with some ally fandangly mesh and from the front it looks like an alloy radiator..
SO THERE.... wink

We had ours re-cored as it can be a pain (I'm told) to fit new ones as the mounts may not be in exactly the right place. Much more efficient now.

I appear to be misquoted above!! I have recently fiited a Radtec alloy rad and i think they have improved the size of the tabs with which to mount, they are now smaller and require to cutting in order to fit, well mine didn't anyway!!! just drilled the holes and bolted in!
