My '92 pre-cat Griff has just failed it's MOT because the dipped headlight switch refused to stay depressed for the tester. .
Does anybody have any tips or tricks to aid its 'stickability'.
If the switch needs replacing are replacements readily available. Presumably this is a dash-out job?
Any hints/help appreciated.

You only need to take the cowling of the steering column and then replace the stalk and switch unit as one, Vauxhall I seem to remember, easy to find off the Bay or go to the wreckers.

20mins job, no dash out required.

Thanks, Johno.
Are you refering though to the steering column stalk? I am having trouble with the round button on the dash (second from the right)
Cheers
Nigel

Ah, an original Griffith, then it'll be a dash out job.

Unless a good soaking with WD40 will help. Not sure whether you can get the button cover off without the dash out, but I'm sure someone will pass this way soon with an answer.

you can replace the whole switch by taking the dash out. RS components have switches that fit exactly.

Or tighten the switch mounting plate on the back of dash.

Sadly it is dash out though.
