I have lost the bolt that clamps the exhaust to the block just to the rear of the exhaust / y piece clamp. Have rummaged through my trusty nuts and bolts and rusty washers box but can’t find anything with the correct thread. Anybody know what size it is or even better got one I can scrounge ?

Think it's M8xsomething... I use my trusty 13mm socket to undo it (frequently of late it seems!)

It is nearly M8 but not quite. In fact I tapped out the last block I had M8 but it is actually something slightly smaller.

You are in luck! The 500 was on the ramp, took the bolt out and measured it.

18 tpi and 5/16" diameter so UNC 5/16"

May have one somewhere if you have a problem getting one

Thanks Ben, can you bring it with you, if you are there on Friday night I will collect it when dropping off the tyres. If not I can fit it in the morning.

At a guess I'd say approx 15mm overall length, but threaded all the way as it is securing a plate of only about 2mm or 3mm thick. Head should be either hex, or hex socket would be OK.

Thanks for the reply on my behalf Andrew, I have been away from the PC. The length is not important, aything over 10mm would do the job, 15 would be Ideal, 20 woulld need a hacksaw as well as a spanner to fit.

Just one concern Ben, would supply of this Bolt constitute sponsorship ?

Really Really heavy bolt would do fine, need a bit more weight to aid traction.
