Not only is the Griff at the doctors having a minor fuel tank leak sorted but
PISTONHEADS HAS BEEN BLOCKED FROM THE COMPUTERS IN WORK
(along with the TVRCC site, The Griffith Pages, The 500SE register in fact anything not to do with work is blocked
)
I can see my post count dropping considerably from this moment on, I'll still be around for sure just not during the day

try googling 'free proxy' -- there are a few sites that will let you browse within a webpage bypassing url filters.
although some companies block these sites also, depends how switched on they are
I'm an IT manager at an LA establishment. I can confirm this is true. Constant battle. although some companies block these sites also, depends how switched on they are

If you have Google, you have the world.

Your problem with circumventing these rules is that you stand a good chance of pissing off your boss and/or getting fired. Probably better to seek approval for break and lunch times, that's what we do here. Timed filters. Almost unrestricted internet access at lunchtime but pretty strict policies in place during 'working hours'.
Hope you get something sorted Mr Mojo. See you soon.

It seems PH etc was not the problem and the universal block on t'internet was not due to my browsing habits !! Now it seems, due to certain members of staff, all computers have a block on all websites apart from those sites specifically named and unblocked by a director ( found out today that even Google no longer opens !! ).
Thanks for the ideas guys but it seems I'm doomed. Time to get an
i-Phone methinks
Oh yeah, and if anyone knows of a Griff fuel tank anywhere please let me know as Stuart at Forzawest has discovered mine is most definately not weldable and the next option is to have one fabricated. Life just gets better !!
See you all soon

opened with a whitelist rather than closed with a blacklist - one way of doing it i suppose, problem is if you treat your staff like children......
one thing yuo could try is the ip instead, depending on how thorough they have been..

Failing that I think it may be time to explain the situation re PH and TVRCC and my withdrawal symptoms etc !! They know my interest and participation in all things TVR and have even been taken out in the Griff on request FFS so here's hoping.
God I feel like I'm in school again.

eta, just tried that ip address at home, access denied, cheers if that was an attempt at humour !! Apologies if it was a genuine suggestion.

They have one here... Racing Green. I have no idea how much you should expect to pay for a fuel tank but that seems expensive to me ?!?! Would it be cheaper to have one made ?See you all soon

Sorry to hear about the internet access
, but maybe they'll agree to open access at breaks. Or maybe an i-phone is the way to go !?
ETA: just realised RG says that the tank is currently not available... so link to Bell Hill

Hi GJR,
Thanks for the Racing Green link, tried them last week but they don't do them anymore unfortunately
(although at nearly £700 I thought was a bit steep too).
Stuart at ForzaWest in Chepstow has been talking to a guy who fabricates ali/steel tanks for rallying etc and we're waiting for him to get back now with a price and time scale. This seems to be the best route to take now as you said.
Originally Stuart was going to attempt to repair and weld the existing tank. When it was removed, cleaned up and so on, it had so much rot it was easier to go for a new tank. Seems really strange that after 24k miles and just under 8 years the tank should be in such a bad condition when the rest of the car is so solid and clean.
Originally the leak was thought to have been coming from 2 tiny pinholes at the base of the tank, where it had rubbed over a period of time (since leaving the factory 7 1/2 years ago I pressume) on two tiny 'horn' shaped spikes of fibreglass that weren't sanded back properly on the inside of the boot floor. This was the case and looked repairable but on closer inspection alot of rotten fuel tank was found
Hope it comes home soon though, I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms now !!
