These are the right things at the wrong prices.. Wondered where they originally came from.. they look like mini lenses. If they are mini would only be about £4,00 to £5.00 each Thanks for reply GOLDIEDo you mean these - These are expensive, usually around £30-40 including bulbs

Rigga was right - they are off a military land rover/ Chieftain tank. Don't think they are off a mini.
LancsRocket's profile list's some useful info Linky, see Monday 9th August 2004 in the blog. Does appear to be Land Rover, and there is a link to the site he got them from.I'm assuming here that the Chim and Griff share the same indicator units at the front ?

They are not off a mini or any other 60's BMC car they are off Military Land Rovers (not road use ones) and Chieftain Tanks. You can get them cheaper than that but usually around £30 pair. What colour do you want? Alternatively you can use smaller Hella indicator units but then you have to mount the light unit on a disc and mount that in the hole. You can see this done on the very last Griffs which use the smaller indicators like the Tuscan and Tamora (and I think the Chimaera with faired in headlamps). Not trying to have an argument here but if my article was read properly i'm after either a car that these things were fitted to or manufactured by.,No car company I know oh has ever made its own lights... Come to think of it most of their parts are sourced from other factors Ie bosch, hella...Glass is pilkington.
Tanks made for off road wouldn't have had indicators fitted only if for road use,,,,,,The tank would have sourced these indicator from somewhere I think they would of had more worry about making shells than light lenses,,If I'm wrong I know you will all want to shoot me,, MILITARY STYLE ONLY PLEASE.
My point was they could have been mini or English heritage based on the cars running gear & the crappy 25 year old mini ash trays in the doors..

THIS PART IS FITTED TO A TANK/LORRY .....THANKS AGAIN FOR LINK
I’ve never heard of them being identified as used on another vehicle other than the military ones.
I have just quite spent some time looking at photos of British military vehicles. Lorries by Foden, the Leyland DAF T244 4 tonner, some armoured stuff, land rovers and others also seem to have been fitted with them around that period.
I would infer that they were a military specification item, fitted to many vehicles. It looks as though the Army had standardised on them to keep its own logistics problems to a minimum. Different vehicle manufacturers who produced the vehicles in both military and civilian versions only used them on the military variant.
They would still have to have been made by a contractor for the MOD, but there is no certainty that they were ever fitted to anything but military vehicles. Some of the military vehicle restoration websites sell them.
Perhaps we need to consider suitable substitutes.
Any last requests, a blindfold perhaps?

I wish, was sold some by my local TVR dealer who said that 'only they will do and you can't use anything else' which turned out to be Tuscan indicators at £168!! More fool me for trusting him as I've since learned that they are land rover reversing lights at around £36.Do you mean these - These are expensive, usually around £30-40 including bulbs
Suffice to say, haven't been back there since.

Cross Reference & pricing TVR against Trade costing's.
Like the clear repeaters for the side i will pricing them at Bristol st Motors, Against tvr as i will be fitting clear or tinted/Grey tint..
Im not trying to be a crusader on this site as i'm new to TVR's & there's a lot of people here already doing a good job.
The prices you people pay & what i pay in the trade is a vastly different,,All you nice people are paying too much & as i purchase bits i will be listing prices & stockist to save your hard earned cash GOLDIE
I went looking at the Lucas website.
I haven’t found the indicators, but on page163 of this http://www.lucaselectrical.co.uk/catalogues/XCB700...
It looks like the rear light cluster is still available.
BTW Does anyone know where the rear number plate lights came from? One of mine fell apart.

Rear lights are still available from vauxhall main dealers,, I think you can get these darker as well off the later cars. They don.t fit straight in you have to grind the corners off,, pig of a job not grinding to much off trail & error..If your removing rear no plate lamps . Most lamps have maufactures stamp on them ie ford & part No.. if so give me a shout & i'll order some,,. Ringing ford in morning to get clear repeaters, If i have time ill ring Lucas for front as well All if i have time,,, Cheers GOLDIE
