Boot lid......................
Discussion
Just been out in the garage to get the wheel nut key from the boot, and found that the boot won't release when the dash button is pressed. There is no sound from the region of the boot so guess the solenoid is not working. My question is, can anyone tell me what fuse or relay controls the solenoid? No mention of it in my handbook.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Fair point Cracked Finger, but all I actually want to know is where or what number is the fuse so I can look there first.
Fair point as well ,,Finger,,, I thought the idea of these forums was to help each other with their problems..What really pissing me off is people picking holes in every ones conversations Not helping with the problems,,Why not list the fuse number to help the bloke out.. If you really wanted to break in to a car that usually has its roof off & for some reason its on,, a brick is always best,,,

There were many fuse boxes used in a grif, depending on age. best post your car's age, If it's a 96 like mine I'll have a look in my handbook. Something quick and easy to check is to the left of the passenger seat behind the door is a flap of carpet that can be pealed back to reveal the connectors going to the back of the car. Giving them a wiggle may help.

I'm not saying don't help others on the forum, that's what they are here for. But please remember that not everyone that reads these forums is as honest and helpful as you.

Hi Alex,
You have a 97 model( for anyone that has the same year), but as said before the fuse panels differ so much, IIRC the relay is probably in the flying loom but think it does all the central locking so if that was faulty then I guess you wouldnt have any central locking. The Fuse is normally a 15A But it covers all the central locking too.
Do you have Steve Heaths Bible as it has a number of different layouts in it. I am guessing yours is probably the same as mine which is the 95-96 version.
I have same as Barreti and A few others and laminated a Fuse panel layout and leave it behind the carpet

Thanks everyone for their help. I have actually done what is suggested in one of the posts, i.e., photocopy the fuse layout, but unfortunately it's locked in the boot! Subsequently I have noticed in the bible that power is taken from the live side of the headlamp flasher switch so will try that fuse first.

), I was hoping that the problem might be as simple as a fuse or relay.
