4.5 BV for sale in ads section

I'm interested in the above car for sale.
It's Copper Green, apparently a genuine 4.5 BV and has some nice upgrades on it.
Does anyone know the car and could you give me some feedback on its background and condition?
Reputedly pushing out circa 380BHP, which does seem rather high.
Seller seems a genuine good guy.

Factory quoted figure was 325bhp IIRC. It was slightly less than the 340 quoted for the 500 when that came out.

4.5 is not 4.6, ie 4441cc (IIRC) as in Tuscan, may well have skinny steel crank, cosworth pistons.... As they were special order I don't know if there was a fixed spec - but it wouldn't seem sensible to buy special pistons / rods for v limited numbers so I would guess TRacer parts bins were utilized

This is a genuine 4.5 litre big valve. The factory made a small number of these as optional upgrades from the 4.3 pre cat and 4.3 big valve editions. No idea what power it would have had as that is completely irrelevant considering the engine mods that it now supports.
The owner has an Austec RR pritout showing 320bhp, so some way shy of the original claim of 380bhp but a nice state of tune nonetheless.
All I'm interested in is if anyone knows the car and can vouch for its condition etc.

Can anyone tell me how the BV 4.2 and 4.5 compare with the 5.0 engine? I always assumed the 5.0 had the bigger valves anyway.
For the record my old 5.0 had a V8 dev cam with solid lifters, MA chip and tune, Ally trumpets and 'modified silencers'. It moved the torque curves around and freed up the revs but never gave me much more bhp. Does the 3 barrel plenum make much difference?

My ex-factory press car has a 4.5BV engine - about 13 of these engines were produced according to those in the know. We did a full comparison at last year's Growl on the rolling road and it produces about the same output as a 5ltr (260bhp) but the nice thing with these engines is the way they rev and pull smoothly through the range. Some people say that's it's the best engine of the lot combining the attributes of the 4.3BV and 5ltr, all I can say is that I like it very much!
