Gaz Golds

I'ed just started to fit Gaz Golds to my '92 pre cat (wire brushing and painting the wishbones as I go) and I come up against a small problem. The shocks bottom fixing is far to wide to fit anybody else found this?

Far too wide or just an absolute and utter bd to fit? If it's the latter I'd say that's normal.

Will your old shock go back in as a comparison now it's painted?

needed adjusting with a big hammer, right bd to fit. Only the rears to do now (next weekend) one of the original fronts was well fecked (explians the soggy rice pudding handling. Took her for a blast the diffence is unbelievable, best £500 I've spent in a while (or £50 if SHMBO asks )
