Strong market for Griffiths...

Whilst some marques and models are suffering at the moment, to me it seems that the market for Griffiths is pretty strong.
I sold mine this week in less than 5 days and have been watching the classifieds on this site closely. Looks like the right spec car, in the right colour and at the right price is pretty well snapped up.
What does concern me is that I get the impression that quite a few of our cars are being sold abroad, so the Griff will eventually become an even rarer site on these roads in future.
Surely prices must have bottomed out now?

Mine has been up for sale for some time, I'm not sure why. Is it the price, the colour or the advert? It has come to the point where Mr Agger is going to get it! I only had one test driver and 3 emails about it, naturally I think it is a corking car in the right colour so I'm wondering why no takers.

I absolutely LOVE those wheels! The only thing I can think of that may put a few off, is the non standard wheels, but I don't think that would stop people buying.

I've bin wondering why that hasn't gone too. Those wheels look great. As previously said, don't give it away, be patient if you can. Looks a cracking motor.

He is being conned then. The max he should pay for tax on any petrol or diesel engine is £405.
Wonder if he's saying he will have to pay this in future?? will ask... may be then have it listed as a truck!!
Anyway the best bit is that he's bought the car (3rd one) and it's on the same plate as my 'normal' car so 55.... he took it into see what the PX value was the other day.... and from paying £65K when it was new, it's now worth £15K!!!! so £15K a year depreciation.... keep it another year and it's worth nothing (I have it then!!)
but how can people afford to take thoes hit's.. mind blowing!....
So with it's value (still a top car.. not a mark and only 35K on the clock) and it's new tax cost.. this thought process now is to get rid of it!!!!

It's a different world for some people. I have a buddy that has a rather nice collection of cars, including an F40 Ferrari. His last service cost in excess of £25k!!!!!!!!!!! He also bought a new Bentley Arnage 2 years ago and has probably suffered depreciation to make your eyes water. ho hum.

Some people's view of 'mint', 'as new', 'perfect condition' wasted a great deal of my time. Then they get upset when you point out, the outriggers are rusty, the engine is leaking oil, the brakes are pulling to the left, the heater isn't working, etc. etc. Some said 'what do you expect for a 10 year old car, some were dealers too! Found a good one in the end though!

i gave up looking for one. I couldnt believe how many Griffs were being advertised as excellent condition but were in serious need of restoration when inspected, i just couldnt be bothered with the hassle of a wasted trip anymore. The trouble is with a Griff it can look nice and shiny at first glance but further inspection usually reveals a different story. The good ones are selling quickly and for a good price and the bad ones are still for sale....just my experience.
