Unlike saf (see topic - Went Topless last night) I had a rare reason to put my roof on today. It reminded me how awkward it is getting it in & out of the boot. I know some guys have cut their roofs in half to improve this situation. Is there a commercially available 2 part roof as I do not have the skills/tools to attempt this on my own roof.
Any info on firms (preferably within a stones throw of Sussex)that could provide this would be greatly appreciated.

I have had one made up, Surface and Design in Blackpool did it and a top job too.
I did try and source a second hand roof for them to split, but for what the breakers wanted S&D made me up a new one which was then split. I haven't had it on whilst it's been raining yet (that could change on the way to Le Man), but have had the hose pipe on the car whilst washing and no leaks. S&D do like to have the car aswell so they can make sure they get a good fit.
Overall very i'm vey pleased with it, S&D did an excellent job, give Andy a ring on 01253 595800.
I'll try and put some pictures up when i get back from Le Mans.

S&D sounds good but not geographically convenient.
Daren't cut my only roof in two; but if anybody has an idiots guide to method and I can source another roof section maybe some DIY could be attempted, thanks for encouragement Del 203

I got quoted £325 from a breakers yard when I was looking to get a spare roof. S&D charged the same to supply a new one which they then cut in half, the conversion was £450, so £775 in all. I admit it's expensive, but I'm sure if i'd attempted it myself, I would have mullered my existing roof and have to have bought another anyway.
So for me money well spent and anyway the other half doesn't know how much it cost - so no problem

Some of the later cars have a different tank filler cover that makes it nigh on impossible to put the panel in I know I've had a go on a couple of cars where the (new)owners asked me to show them how to do it....Barreti said:

In the meantime here's a couple of pics of the folding roof. It's a 'Surrey' type roof as fitted to some Triumphs I believe.

Are there any reports on how well it copes with high speeds, weather proofing and so on yet.
Any photo’s of how it fits into the boot, or space behind the seats?

1. He has photographs of him driving the car at high speed with the roof on.
2. He had a bag for the roof which when collapsed into the bag sat quite neatly on the shoulders behind the seats where the top seatbelt loops bolt to
