People,

I'm looking to clean my perspex covers and thought I might as well change the headlamp units while I'm at it. For the driving lights I've used Valeo's which are great: brighter and curved glass, so less prone to cracking. So ideally, I'd like to use Valeo's with curved glass for the headlamps as well.

Any idea which one I would need?
or: does anyone know the diameter of the original headlamp?

thanks!

They are the same diameter as the driving(main beam) so i would think just the same but dip pattern. While at it,rewire both lights on the same side as the starter motor, Just get a couple of relays, fuses and a tap(supply) from the starter motor.Add Philips Vision Plus bulbs, legal and 50% brighter.

I can confirm David Beer's Comments. I bought and can recomend the 'Brighter Lights'wiring kit from Modwise who sell the Phillips lamps as well. Mine are now proper lights as opposed to before = lethargic gloworms in a jam jar!

Good luck

Is it possible to retro-fit the larger headlights from the last 100 SEs?

If you used the original unit and cut it out,I think it would be very close and the light unit would almost touching the perspex. That might look a little odd. I see that Demmon Tweaks do several replacemdnt units that should just pop in. £20- £60 each !!

I wanted to do that with mine, but it is too tight. They must have made the fibre glass moulding a little bigger to accomadate the larger diameter light.Looks tasty with smoked covers though. It's at Earl Court till 21.00 this evening, then it is being swapped for a Smart car.Yes I know, but have my business head on.Will post some pics if you want.
