Radiator Fan Change
Discussion
Hello, all
The 40 amp fuse blew the other day on my Griff 500 causing me a slight moment of distress when things started to get a bit warm !!
Anyway, changed the fuse (took me bleedin ages to get a couple - didnt realise that they were so unusual !), unplugged the terminals on the otter switch to bridge the circuit to check the fans, and found one of them has seized itself. The otter switch is OK, and activated the other fan at the correct temp with the other fan isolated. Ir would appear that one fan is adequate enough to keep the car cool, but clearly I need to change the duff fan ASAP.
Question is, can I liberate the fan from the radiator without taking the rad out of the car ?
As far as I can see, it should be an unbolt and bolt in job, but I have been told that to change means a radiator out job......
Any tips ?
Thanks
Chris
