I've owned my Griff for only a few months and suspect the Nitrons may need an overhaul. The car feels like it is sort of bouncing around tight corners if they are taken too quickly.

The car has done very little mileage in the last few years but it looks like the Nitrons were fitted 6 years ago and no evidence that they have been refurbed.

Is it a dead cert that they will need refurbing by now?

One of my rears has just started to fail and they will be going for service next week. (£65 a corner). They have been on app 3yrs from new. The below is a lift from Nitrons site. HTH.
To keep your Nitron dampers working at their optimum we recommend you return them for servicing every once in a while. How often depends on the use of the car and how critical the performance of the suspension is to the individual, for example for race use we would recommend the shocks be rebuilt every year, for ordinary road use perhaps with the occasional track day every two years would be fine. Indeed we have received kits that have covered many miles over several years and once given a thorough rinse still test up well on the dyno!

Can you adjust rebound and compression damping independantly on Nitrons? Bouncing is often insufficient rebound damping.

My Nitron's have been on for three and a half years as well and my NSR one has just dumped it's oil on the garge floor so that needs a rebuild but I'm going to have all four refurbed as I think they'll benefit. I also have a bit of an indeterminate squeak at the front which may be down to the shocks as well so it's a process of elimination there. I've done about 27k miles in the nearly 3 years I've owned it so reading the blurb Bob has posted from the Nitron web site makes me think I'm going down the right route.

Just had the rears rebuilt with new Eibach springs for the 500, just need to fit themn as I've now got new bolts, washer, nuts too.. Been on 4.5 years and used daily so I think we did well. Going to get the fronts done too very soon.
Its £50+VAT a corner for rebuild, plus springs if you change them.
I've gone 325 rear and will go 400 front (Eibachs).

Update, took possesion of the Griff today after Nitron servicing. SO much better and quieter, guess over time you forget how good they can be.
