It's been a while since I've done anywork on the Griff and due to the late fire in the garage I have had nowhere or no tools to sort out the car, hence the not driving so much.

Anyhow, I can remember how to do the oil change, I can sort out the plugs, check the butterflies etc, so:

1). How often do I have to do the gearbox oil? Then how do I do it? And what do I use? I know there was some debate as to what goes in? I think I have some sort of ATF in there?

2). How easy is it to change the oil in the Diff? What do I use?

3). Can I check the timing with a standard strobe light and adjust it as I would on a normal engine, by turning the dizzy?

I believ every 12000 miles, the gearbox takes dextron 2D oil.

Depends if you can reach the fillerplug, i did it in about half an hour yesterday, i filled my gkn diff up with some 75w140 oil from millers (LS type) specially for diffs

Hey Chris. Yes, but the timing marks on the RV8 are reputedly unreliable.
