Interior Door Lever Stops: Need one

I'm sure someone recently posted with a similar enquiry. Anyway, I need one of those small black buttons that prevent the interior door lever from cutting into the leather. Anyone found a source for these or using something similar that does the job?

hi i think i,m right in saying a chap on the tvrcc site had a batch made up about a month ago and was selling them on e bay if i remember right,quite a few tvrcc members wanted them as well which prompted the bloke to get them made.the post on tvrcc was in the general forum hope that helps you out

Yes indeed,,, It was me.. and I have some left... turned from SS so look better than the orig black plastic things... will PM you some info... or may be re-post on here....

Bruce will be at the Growl from Thursday through to Sunday. Suggest you bring a few spares if you have some.

Thanks all. Beaver, they look like the job. Maybe you could bring up a couple along to the Growl. Will have a look through the solid dome-head rivets drawer at work too. I'll bring along what I find for a Rivet Fest.

TVR Beaver, I had a look out for you at the Growl but obviously missed ya. Would have taken away a couple of your stainless stops.

As such I'm gonna use these:



They're a special Boeing Mushroom Head in a very light but hard alloy (don't ask me for the composition). They're much lighter than SS so won't increase body-roll significantly. The head is approximately 9.5mm and they polish up real nice. If anyone has need then drop me a line and I'll post a couple out.

The ones I made are flat on top... with a slight rad towards the edge.. both on top and on the underside so they don't cut the leather... I did try dome ones first and they don't work... due to the movement in the lever pin, the lever just moves (slides)up or down and off the head, cutting into the leather in another place... give them a try and see if they work... but what size is the stud... don't make the hole bigger than my units... if you do, you'll not be able to fit the real ones when you find your leaver now sitting in another position

BTW... we were parked just over from your tent... and we even (me and the wife) spent a good hour trying to finish the road race thing you had!... but had forgotten who wanted some other than FFG... bugger..

These things weren't just thrown out you know... they were developed.... over a period of time with much testing.... must of spend at least 6... no 7 min's designing them
