ebay griff, is this getting expensive ?

am i thinking that the price is creeping a little high ? people do seem to get carried away.

I would like to see that repair for " a few hundred quid" think not.. Dash also looks shagged,, Makes me laugh when they say it just had new Engine,, Was it because he felt sorry for the car and wanted to spend money on it,,
Think not because the thing was shagged & needed to be replaced.Also with the gear box,, all the car has done the same milage and has had the same amount of stick... Buy this and forever leave your wallet open...

Doesn't look all THAT bad to me be honest. So cosmetically it might be a bit of a nail but you shouldn't be put off by that, it might have a great chassis and a nice engine especially if the previous owner was as fastidious as he claims.
Good quality repairs to bodywork say £1k, dashboard £200 doesn't look to bad if you think in those terms.

Doesn't look too bad to me at all! OK, a minor bump on the rear and keyed on the front, so what? At the price it is, you could throw a bit of money at it and might end up with a nice car. Put it this way, i've seen a lot worse.
It's difficult to tell on pics alone, so might be a slightly damaged but otherwise OK car or could be a nail.

We should be talking the values of our model UP not DOWN!!!!!
We dont want them to be get so cheap that all the chavs can afford them!!!! What would that do for the image of Griffs???????

A turd is a turd and once painted and polished all that the new owner will have is a shiny turd.
I am sorry but this is a poor example of the marque and worth less than a good example comparison.
If anyone pays more than 5K for this thrashed and abused nail then bigger fool them.
Far too many people are suckered into paying far too much for TVR's because the body on top never shows the cars true age and condition
Run a mile unless you like spending time on your back.

I rebuilt my engine at 50k just for the hell of it, and because I fancied a bit more power....Say no more.
The engine was running perfectly when I stripped it down (apart from some minor pinking)
In fact most of the components I could have re-used, but I replaced am anyway, just cos I had the cash spare, and fancied having a go

but if all is ok.... you'll never know unless you go and give it a thourgh inspection....., a grand should put right what has been described.
I know someone who bought a Griff 3 years ago for £7k....... changed the carpets and had a very nice Griff for the money...... not all cheap cars are dogs, they just need a bit of tlc

I bought my Griff 500 at the beginning of the year with 68,000 miles on it. It had a documented full service history and documented full engine rebuild at 66,000 at main dealer inc new block etc at a cost of £5k.
This was required due to the vernier pulley failing after customer had taken car in and had replacement cam fitted, ( cam at 60,000 about right ). When I bought the car it felt fantastic and pulls like a train, no smoke, rattles etc..good oil pressure. Still does!
People talk about SP6 cars and the worry of a impending engine rebuilds but lets not forget that at £5k an RV8 motor can hurt the wallet and for me this history was very much a positive when purchasing!
