Because the drivers internal door handle on the central console has stopped working. I can see that the cable is attached at that end, before I start going about investigating in the wrong and probabaly painful way, anyone got any hints please? (and don't say "open window and use external push opener" cos I am fed up of doing that!!!). Thanks John

Not sure if this is what you are asking.. but the other end joins to the door catch... cable goes thru a hole and has a barrel end with a screw on it... supose this could come loose and it won't work... have you checked this?... It's behind the carpet flap next to the back of your seat??

There's only two nuts per side holding the centre console on. Loosen the handbrake, undo those nuts and you should be able to see the entire cable.

The whole thing is pretty much like a bicycle brake cable.

Imagine the door release handle is the handlebar brake lever, the cable is just the same and tucks under the centre console, the door opener is the bike brake mechanism.

The thing that stops the cable pulling through is just one of the ends you put on a bike brake cable when you replace just the cable.

Really noddy, simple stuff. But all the best ideas are the simplest IMHO
