Buying First Griff!!! Anyone know this car???

Hello all! First time TVR ownership looms, so been a silent spectator of these forums for some time now!

Looking around at classifieds I've come across this one; as people have said the Griff 'club' is fairly close knit, so anyone have any info that may affect my buying decisions, I'd be grateful!!!

Well its a local car to me it seems,well in as much as its in the west mids,but ive never seen it at the local meets.....

Not seen this one, I've owned two in the past the first Griff was a 1995 500HC and I never had a problem with it, the 2nd was a 1999 500 and I had a lot of problems with this one.

The Griff you're looking at has every MOT that the car has ever had and a FSH, good start!
You have to view the car really; at 59k miles check the chassis for corrosion, also that seems a good price to get into a Griff but keep some cash back for any sneak ups!

Best of Luck, Griffs are magnificent! I almost brought the last ever Griff no.100 SE from Graham Scarsbrook a couple of years ago but I couldn’t put the cash together in time, my loss!

Shame its not known in the local area; I've emailed the chap to see where abouts in the Midlands he is - no reply as yet...

I'm aware FSH is a prerequisite, Chassis condition important. I thought with my budget as it is I would be more Chim oriented, however if Griffs are popping up at these prices (in good condition)... No contest!!! Visually they really are stunning!

Perhaps someone further afield knows something about this one?? Any info will be greatly appreciated!

For me it's the other way round. Condition is far more important than paper.

ETA: FWIW, I bought mine on the cheap side... click.

It's advertised all over the place. Seems to have started at £10490 and is now down to under £8k. Most of the adverts are from "Alexander Vehicle Solutions". Just search for 'Alexander Vehicle Solutions tvr griffith' on Google.

At a guess (and this is a guess - I may be wrong) it's now being sold as a private sale as it's so much cheaper than it was through the trader. Whether it was a comission sale and it's now back with its owner, or the dealer can't underwrite the warranty at £8k who knows.

Anyway I spotted it because if it checks out it seems to be a superb little Griff for the money. Well worth a look IMHO.
