Last years was great but a tad rushed and therefore not getting the attendance it deserved (around 25 cars).
I think a date should be booked for this year we can all put in the diary ensuring it doesn't clash with anything and lets see how many we can get in one place.
I appreciate this may be a slightly premature as there doesn't seem to be any dates fixed as yet but don't forget it if we can't get a date set now.
Anyone know of anywhere central to handle 200ish (maybe) beasts?

FFG, I posted about this back in October, suggesting a Southern Growl around the 1st w/e in April, maybe in the Southampton area, a Northern Growl in July around Newcastle/Lancster, and the Midland one 1st w/e in October (as before).

Any more suggestions?

Is the National Trust approachable for an event like this? I remember Clumber Park was suggested last year but we were turned down. It is a cracking venue, loads of space and right on the A1

Gaydon - National Heritage Museum, just off the M40? They have acres of parking space and will cordon off an area, plus there is something to look at of interest and relevance. Rich...

Strange someone should suggest Gaydon as it's where, for those that joined in, the little cross country jaunt last years Growl from The Griffin ended. Gets my vote, it's a pity we couldn't get to use the Land Rover test track next door, it's a good circuit, been round it in my Griff.

Le Mans Weekend

Theres a couple of ways of looking at this.

1, we try to meet somewhere as central as possible, and get a great turnout.

2, we go the 3 regional type meets and prehaps not get as a big turnout.

I prefer No 1, and if we start now people will have enough notice to arrange a few weekend.

I enjoyed last year meeting at the Griff Inn pub having a wander and a chat, some food and then the blast to Gaydon,

Gaydon and Clumber Park looks quite nice too.

But do you have to get permission by these places or just turn up and Gate crash the carpark and then Wander off.

Clumber looks to be a nice setting for a few great pics etc And Gaydon has the Motoring Museum.. Desitions desitions.

June is a Busy month for many, so i would reccomend July or August Prehaps..What thinks you.

I suggested the three Growls as a way of getting as many people to at least one a year. Inevitably, one weekend isn't going to suit everybody, and there seem to be a lot of events already in the calendar.

Pistonfest is 4th July, Goodwood the week before, F1 the weekend after,(yawn).

Whats on first w/e in August?

It was inspired by the Guys from the 'S' series Forum and a get together called 'S club Heaven'.

Last year although a bit rushed we decide to have a go at a Griffith one that was the GGAG (Griffith Gathering and Growl).
There was a pretty good turn up of around 25 Griffiths.

This sounds like I may have to break cover and show my face at an event for the first time.:Crawlbackunder rocksmiley: Gaydon or 3 seperate ones both sound good to me.

Now that I've joined the gang I definitely want to be there. Just need plenty of notice to get the car clean!
