I shall be getting a bigger brake kit from a Dutchman in the near future.

Unfortunately they won't fit under the standard 15" wheels. Such is the price of wanting "TVR" on the calipers hehe.

Which of course brings me to the choice of replacement wheels.

A five stud kit is available (I've just been asked if I want one before the brake kit is made up) and spider wheels are quite plentiful with at the time of writing two sets being available in PH ads.

I am wondering about the outer limits of what has been done though, as I may fancy fatter tyres a'la HRG or a Chim which I believe has 10" rears! (I know doing so would not be straightforward).

These look good, but I don't know the offsets.

So which number of studs gives the most options?

4 will be OK if you talk to these people:

http://www.comp.co.uk/

I managed 17" x 8" ET40 rears. 18" x 9" should just fit without hacking at bodywork as long as the offset is calculated correctly. (Probably something like ET45, but don't just take my word for it!)

Thanks, I think 17 would be my ideal size, I don't fancy rubber band rubber smile

That was my thought. I have had rubber band tyres before wink

Here's what it looks like with 17" MO6 all round and my "cheap" brembo (325mm discs) front brakes:

I have fitted the same brake upgrade and also fitted a set of Silverstone SP12's on 4 studs. I personally think they are a great combination.

265/35 18 Toyos will go on the rear depending on your geometry. When I reduced the rear camber I had to have the inner arches cropped and reshaped to accommodate them.

Thank you - I'm very pleased with them.

I'm not sure what sizes are available but give the guy at Silverstone Performance a call. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful.

Or keep it TVR (and pick up a spare set of 16" Spiders for track days).

5 Stud conversion and calipers courtesy of the same Dutchman, I suspect...

225 fronts and 255 rears (just), 18" Tuscan rears all round with Sportmotive spacers at the front.

I doubt that very much. wink Mine was custom made to my own design. Nothing to do with Dutchmen - only mad English people were involved...

Mine looks almost identical, same brakes and almost identical wheels.

Silverstone Performance only do one size; 17" front 18" rears.

I bought the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels. Team Dynamics make the wheels for Silverstone Performance based upon the Pro Race 1.2

The advantage of buying the Pro Race 1.2 is a choice of rear sizes. I wanted 17" rears, plus the price is less.

The disadvantages are no TVR badge in the centre and Team Dynamics embossed on the rims.

It was the large "Team Dynamics" name on the rims that put me off. I think Silverstone Performance have bespoke offsets too (don't ask me what they are, I can't remember) which you can't get directly from Team Dynamics.

I meant the same that Richard was talking about......from the mad Dutchman. Tuscan Calipers and 300mm discs.

If you talk to Team Dynamics they will advise you about offset and other options.

You can order any offset you like within a range of offsets, including the same specification as the SP12. You can get hub diameter to fit for an extra cost, or use the adaptor rings.

The only thing you can't do is deleting the embossed rim.

You may well be right. I understood that Silverstone Performance had one of the standard size wheels machined to create a slightly different offset.....but I could be wrong.

I managed to get a get of SP12's with Toyos fitted and full geo set-up for £1200 which I thought was reasonable. You might get it slightly cheaper directly from Team Dynamics but I was keen to lose the embossed rim. It is probably worth just speaking to both before buying.

Anyway, from either source, they are excellent wheels.

They look great, did you weigh the wheels before fitting and how wide can you go with the tyres 255/265+?

No, I didn't weigh them unfortunately.

regarding sizes, I'm not sure. I just went with the recommended sizes so I have 245's.

I would suggest you give Silverstone Performance and Team Dynamics a call. I'm sure they will both be extremely helpful and far more knowledgeable than us lot. Then you can make an educated decision.

Do you have any pics of your Griff with the TD pro race?
