As soon as my griff 500 reaches normal running temp it releases lots of greyish smoke from exhausts for about 5 mins. i then turn engine off restart and smoke gone. the smoke isnt of a really oily smell. Can anybody shed any light on this matter for me.

Do you have PAS?
Mine did same thing, traced to PAS fluid leaking from bottom of pump onto jont between down pipe and exhaust.

Mick,
A company called Piretex can make you a new pipe up, its the u bend under the pump.Hydrolic pipe i think it is. A quick fix is to clamp the ends a bit tighter but this is only a quick fix before it starts again.
