Beautiful (but arent they all!) Silver Griff driving down Fareham high street on Saturday afternoon.

I dont usually put "spotteds" on here but to see a Griff so close to home that I have never seen before seemed to warrant it.

If you are on here, Im the one that was coming in the opposite driection in the green VW Golf. I cam e to a stop as I put the window down to hear you burble past.
Lovely noise.

Well mine's N**XKE, and it's silver.....

....and I was definitely nowhere near Fareham on Saturday, and (touch wood) no-one's nicked it

So there's someone else out there with a similar car / numberplate. Hmmmm..... if I was the criminal sort, it sounds like a perfect opportunity to avoid Gatsos, etc

Yip that was me - looking for some turbot (!?). Apart from the N** part of my and cyberface's Griffs, the only other difference is the side indicators. (Cyberface - think my wife posted Griff pics previously and nearly made you spill your pint!)
Cheers!

Aha.... oh well there goes my Gatso-cheating plan

Incidentally, have you had any trouble with yours?? I have a feeling that mine is, luckily, one of the 'good-uns' as it seems to be very well put together. Perhaps 1996 was a golden year for Griffs....

Re: me spilling my pint - which thread was this?? Takes a hell of a lot to get me to waste beer....

Dont go and jinx it like that!

Gilesy, I take it you are local to me.
Having read your profile:
Did you go to the Car show at Thorney Island in July? If not then make sure you go this year. It would be your cup of tea AND its local!
Also, do you know Steve Johnson, aka motormouse racing?

Yeah, I know Steve very well. I crew for him occasionally while I'm in the (very long) process of building my new car.

I didn't go to Thorney Island last year, what was it like. If you think it's good I'll go next time.

Where do you live? - next time I see you about I,ll wave.

Cheers
Ian

Oh PS

Ian, whereabouts do you live? I am in Hedge End and sure its your car I spotted in the Sainsbury's car park a month or so ago and then a few days later coming onto the adjacent roundabout in rush hour.

Not only that, but having checked your profile, your S is long lost sisters to a mate's S.

Bloody hell!!

Both my TVRs have close reletives living nearby!

I live in Durley, just behind JG Autos at Beeches corner. I work at Southampton airport so I guess you will see me (or Mrs gilesy as she works there too) driving back and forth as we use them both as everyday cars.................FANTASTIC!!

Durley, I pass through there whenever I go to a Tiv meet in Bishops Waltham/Wickham. Your house looks v similar to those opposite the Farmers Home actually.

Will keep my eyes peeled. Never seen the S about but seen the Griff before. Just changing jobs at the moment and rather than heading into town each day I will be working just down the road near the concorde club so will probably see you both around. And if you fancy a photo opportunity with F904 PRK let me know and I will arrange.

Oh PS

I live in fareham and drive a green Golf (with PH sticker) to work in Basingstoke.
At the weekends I still drive the green Golf but its a Blue or black Griff (Hopefully I wont have to pretend forever!)

Thorney Island was excellent. This year Im going to camp there with a mate that has a pro-street Zephyer (Nos, 'chute brake and all that). Make sure you go, its a fantastic long weekend and so cheap!
(£12 for camping and £5 RWYB for the WHOLE weekend!).
Lots of custom car cruises and show involved too.

The S though - what are the chances of that???

Do you guys go down the Hampshire Bowman (I'm just off there now for the quiz). Might be a good place for a photo shoot. It would be good if Cyberface could make it too (bit of a long trek just for a photo and beer though I guess), still I like the sound of it. Shnozz - We were talking to you at the Hen & Chicken a couple of months back, You're going out with a hostie aren't you? I'm married to one so I know what you are going through

owner of F904 is up for some photos with the sister car. I am only down the road in grange park so if you drop me an e-mail with your number I will give you a bell at some point to arrange.
