Reflections on Windscreen

My 500 with Magnolia dash surround does suffer from quite distracting reflections on the windscreen, especialy on a sunny day. Do other colours still reflect as bad? I wondered if a black dash top would suffer as much and have considered recovering. What is the best colour to minimise these reflections? What has been your experience?

mines black, ( not the leather one ) and its just as bad

Not being sarcastic but look 'through' your windscreen rather than 'at it' (if you follow what I mean) and you then won't notice the reflection the same or indeed at all.

Once you notice this, its very difficult NOT to look at it. I have a similar problem on my daily driver, I never noticed it until some B***er pointed it out. You could try the matt finish interior polish stuff.

Thanks for the advice. I have been offered a black dash surround and thought it might be an improvement but from your comments it obviously is'nt. My sons previous Mondeo had a lightish blue dash top and did not reflect at all he remarked it is the only car he has ever owned that did not reflect. His current Mondeo with a grey surround reflects badly.

I might feel guilty with full hide these days, I'm cycling in the country quite a bit and often say hello to the cows. That said, the miserable bds never say hello back so skin the fkers...

What do you clean the dash top area with?

You can get two types of spray cockpit cleaner from motor factors, matt and shine.

Use the matt on areas likely to cause reflections as it minimises the reflection.

The shine looks very nice and you use it everywhere else.

The stuff I use says it's suitable for leather or plastic.

I never clean the dash top !

but will try the matt polish, thanks for the tip Uncle Fester.
