Griffith Clutch

On my second clutch which was changed in 05 at 45k, just noticed clutch slipping in 5th and 4th now on 75k, surprised as I thought it would last longer than this? Think I am quite careful when I start off from traffic lights, I have also just had the diff replaced, bit puzzled.

Must admit i would hope a for a little more than 30k if driven carefully

Do you live oop north or in the fens? All the clutch vendors round here go broke

In East Anglia , quite close to the fens but in Suffolk, done about 30 - 40k ish between cluthches, I do about 8/9 k per year, split between commuter and longer journeys, as I said I am just a bit surprised at the lask of longevity.

Was it a proper AP clutch?

I'd be pretty upset if my clutch only lasted 30K, these aren't that exotic a piece and the engine isn't that torquey by modern standards.

I changed mine when it blew on a track day but that was at 61K and I found a broken gearbox mount and a badly cracked engine mount which won't have helped.

When you consider most modern turbo diesels are pushing out 300ft/lb + I'm sure there must be something mundane and cheap which will suit

don't V8D do a good unit?... think my clutch is starting to slip a bit!!! Do you need to go to multi plate to get it to last??

Whoops, I might have got this a bit wrong..............got a friend to do a road test and he couldn't find anything wrong, either I am completely stupid or I need to check it again, I will keep you informed.

Guys, thanks for the responses.............I dont think i have an issue, i used the car today and everything seemed fine, hopefully it will stay that way.
