17" wheels

Has anyone here put a set of after market 17's on a griff?

If so what is the handling like, and what size tyres have you gone for?

I once read somewhere that the car was prone to tramline if larger diameter wheels / tyre sizes were used, is this the case?

What?! and spoil the classic looks, these cars were designed to operate on the wheel and tyre sizes as bought, any change will result in compromised handling and adverse wear on suspension components. If you want bling bling wheels buy a nova and bugger off to Halfwits

As an alternative to the excellent Racelines fitted by Rich and Apache have a look at the 17" Technomagnesia Detroits that Gerjo and I have fitted on our cars(see my profile for details/pics).Running on Toyo rubber and combined with Nitrons this has transformed the handling of my car.I have not noticed any problems with tramlining.They also give you space to fit some BIG brakes

Have to say Tiny, That is one of the nicest Griffs I've ever seen, up there with the gunmetal factory 'hack' (such a derogatory term)with anthracite spiders and drilled discs

Apparently just heard that bling bling wheels will mean £10 surcharge on speeding fines as their car owners can obviously afford it
