only bit to be really careful of is the fuel pump live. Let it dry fully before firing up.
Chassis on used Tivs seem to be ok, its when they were used for a few years and then parked up. Also, as you say, the painted ones are MUCH better.
Never waxoiled mine. Don't like it. water can get in in a bad area and then stay underneath.
TVRs std weatherproofing is the best...lots of oil leaks!

Next time you need to hire a trailer i would recommend peter Bowman Towing in Bury. they hire out proper as new Brenderup trailers. it used to be about £75 for the weekend, (friday - Monday morning) not the cheapest but the wheels don't fall off them. pretty sure they also do day hires.
How much are we going to wager that this turns into a winter body lift and detail

With all the running gear off and the exhaust and undertray I would really go for the 3" lift, if nothing else you will then be able to properly emery up the tops of the outrigger tubes and re-paint and re-seal them. For road cars lifted in this way I have always thought that a long strip of denso tape laid flat along the top of the tube and smoothed round would sort the top tube rust problem that always gets to these chassis.
You could lift that body 3" in another hour or so. You know you want too

Quinny YHM.Quinny: You do an excellent job on explaining how a person with limited experience can maintain their car without it costing a fortune. You and several others that I have come to trust deserve a and a pat on the back. I have shown my daughter your videos on this thread and she is now willing to do some maintenance on the underside of her TVR. She just wants me to be there to help if she gets herself into a corner. It is nice to know that there are people out there that can inspire young owners to try tackling the work on their own instead of paying a shop to do the work like the wife and I do most of the time with our other 2 TVRs. The frame and underside of my daughter's 36 year old car is in good shape from when I owned the car but I want her to be the one to decide what needs to be tidied up. Every time that I see her starting to sport her silly "TVR grin" I think of all the different people who have inspired her and say thank you. Keep up the good work.

The 3 red cars in my profile are mine and the Griff. belongs to an acquaitance and it is one of the last TVRs imported into North America.Our import laws (in Canada) will allow us to import anything pre 1994.
