Saw this advertised in Practical Performance Car magazine, looks quite interesting. I am sending my exhaust manifolds and Y-Piece off to Zircotec for their 'Primary' coating.

This material may have a use in TVRs for making 'booties' for the engine mounts? Could also be effective (but expensive) to wrap around induction pipes?

Might be worth looking on their site though, as at 350 degrees C it only offers an 8% improvement over a much cheaper insulation material.

Hi jeboa, I am looking at ceramic coating my exhaust manifolds and Y-Piece too.

Can you give me an idea of how much this will cost from Zircotec.

The alternative is camcoat, not sure if there is any difference between the two companies in the coatings offered ? both ceramic, both offer temperature reduction

Camcoat can coat internally as well, which is essential IMHO.

Looked at this at the show to protect the tuscan chassis near the cats looks pretty good but £70 a sheet cant remember size now.

You could try these guys, who have two new coatings from the States. Look and feel different to the Zircotec and Camcoats stuff.

Are you sure its not the Techline stuff (CamCoat are just the european distributor IIRC)

Absolutely - this stuff is brand new - currently used in the defence and aerospace industries, but now filtering through to cars. The heat dispesants are very interesting, as they can make a big difference to induction temperaures and also make all sorts of coolers and heat exchangers work better.

Yes techline have a had heat dispersal coatings available for years, I have explained at length many times on here the benefits of using these products on the exterior of manifolds / plenums / rocker covers, as well as the heat insulation internally within the induction

Have you used them on oil coolers, radiators etc.?
