Timing chain ?

When I fitted the new cam in the summer the kit came with a new Timing chain set. the origional one on the car was a vernier type but the new one was a solid unajustable Morse link Timing chain and sprokets.
So would it be a good investment to upgrade to a vernier Timing kit if so which one, where from and at what cost (aprox)
The car is a 97 500 serp
I realise I will have to set the cam timing but have read Quinnys engine rebuild on the griffith pages about 10 times so I have a good idea on how to do this plus reading other info about it.
Any help will be greatly recieved

Chris.. I used a JP Performance timing gear with the adjustable slots on the crank sprocket.It made cam timing a bit cumbersome but now set it will stay set (outside chain stretch that is). I got to with .5 a degree (110.5) of ideal.. the extra .5 degree will allow for some chain stretch in the future. A Vernier would be easier to time. I wouldn't change just for the sake of it. Other plus is the JP kit is a lot lighter than than the vernier..

I can strongly recommend the Australian made Rollmaster stell timing gear set for the RV8. It has a multi keyway on the crank sprocket and the chains are top notch. Used extensively on the Ford and Holden V8 Supercars at Bathurst. I've used them on RV8s for years without any problems with stretching or broken teeth.

Both the JP Performance and the Rollmaster chains and sprockets are made in Adelaide... by the same manufacturer?
