Occasional "knocking" from under the car - any ideas?

As above really, when releasing the clutch, particularly in first gear, I sometimes hear (and feel through the floor of the car) a small knocking sound.

Any thoughts as to what it could be?

Get this on mine which is caused by the nearside exhaust catching the chassis on intial take up. Started happening after it was removed for some work, just needs adjusting.

Can also be a sympton of engine mount failure, as the exhuast manifold can end up touching/resting on the chasis when the mount shears.
