Anyone used P/X Wheels?

I would like to get my Estorils refurbed and the easy option seems to be to use P/X wheels, has anyone got any experience of using them or could recommend a decent refurb outfit that might be able to do either a same day refurb or offer a good mobile service close to Stevenage?

Mine could do with a spruce up too - it's the only thing the previous owner hasn't done. I wonder what the chances are of a group buy on refurbs? Obviously we need to be in the same area to make it worthwhile, but there must be a deal to be had on a large order?

I'm near Fernies in Surrey and T5GRF is in Stevenage. Anyone else interested and if so where are you?

KO on the A10 has an excellent reputation - not far from Stevenage.

Ive used px wheels twice with good results both times and easy to send your wheels back.

I had a set refurbed at my home while I waited a year or two back.
1 at a time.
Took them of the car, blasted them, painted them, baked them, refitted tyre. Back on the car. Only thing I had to do was get them balanced as he didn't want to do that on fresh paint.

£50 per wheel IIRC. All done in the back of a LWB Sprinter. Called "Wheel nuts" or something similar.

Well worth considering as you can be sure of your own wheels/tyres.

I used PX wheels 2 years ago, great service couldn't fault that. the one thing to bare in mind is they powder coat the wheels so the colour is slightly different from the original not a problem if you have all four done.

Yes I used px wheels 4 years ago when I first bought my Chim. Drove up to see the chap (the weather was glorious for some reason) and he fitted the recon wheels and balanced the lot and then cleaned and polished everything before I payed him. He also convinced me that only 3 of the 4 wheels needed changing so he's not a rip off merchant. Very happy with the deal. (He also drives a Griff, no taste)
The wheels still look like new by the way and were a good match to the only wheel I didn't have referbed.

Cheers for the replys. I do like the idea of keeping the wheels I know rahter than exchanging but it sounds as though P/X seem reputable. Guilloteen was the mobile mob you used Wicked Wheels?

Nah, I was thinking of get'n the 17" Diablo's gold coated, I reckon they would look good

Got a bit of a problem with estorils, we had a break-in in july 2008 and most of our stock TVR wheels were stolen.
16 OZ Split rims
4 Camille Gottis
8 Wedge lattice
8 Estorils
along with about 250 other wheels.

We've replaced some but not the Estorils, so doing an exchange isn't an option at the moment, so we'd have to do yours.

Used them twice, first was a set of OZ split rims, which were exchanged. 2nd time we had an unusual set of wheels on the Tuscan and someone kerbed one PX sent a courier to pick ours up and returned them refurbed.

Excellent service, we were very pleased with the results.

PX offered to do my OZ's after their break in, but as it was on using my wheels i optioned from someone nearer to home ... but he was very informative to talk too so on that front

I used PX wheels to refurbish a set of OZ pre-cat cross-spoke alloys 18 months ago. very happy with the results and service.

PX did a set of RL's for me a few years ago, very helpful to talk to and faultless service, recommended.
