Newbie here, ive got a Mk1 Cortina GT with a griff engine going in it. Had a 3.9 in it till end of last year then got a serp 500 griff lump. Had it crossbolted, 404 cam, pistons and rods balanced with crank assy too. Original twin plenum, jag a/f meter ( just need the injectors to match) group "a" rocker assy and small block chevy brodix rocker covers.
You can look at pics on my website: www.mk1cortinav8.co.uk

Love it. If and when I don't have a TVR I want a Mk1 Escort or similar with a RV8 in it.

There was a Mk I Escort for sale in Circuit Driver magazine a while back. That had been fitted with a TVR/Rover V8. Looked lovely. They wanted over £20K for it though

Not sure a Rover V8 would suit an Escort though. Souped up Duratec might be more fun

Have you spoken to cortinaman(usually on general gassing)? Looks like he's done a whole load of ford projects.

I like the mk I's too btw, great shape and bags of character.

A friend of mine as a v8 in a mazda mk3? Very cool looking car, it reminds me of the early opel fast back or a smaller mustang. He's fitting turbo's on for this year but preparing an ls1 for later on. The car's in Sweden so I've not seen it in front of me but will later this year.

Cheers for the welcome guys, wasn't sure the response i would get as the forum is for tvr cars.Had more traffic through my site today than ive had in a week! Been doing the final preping on my block tonight before fitting the crank tomorrow. V8 racing, what did you mean by work out the water system? the heater hoses? I need a Tee piece to go in bottom hose to run one hose out of or into as the case may be.How many of you guys run the p404? ive heard 2 engine with that cam and the idle sounds real lumpy-music to my ears!

Arh now i know who you are v8 racing, had a look at manifold 2nite and has the steel pipe coming out from that ally block underneith as you said, so goes from there to heater then back to tee peice in bottom hose.
I like the way you drive your beemer

I've got a P404 and it works a treat with the 4 barrel Edelbrock, thirsty though
