Can anyone adivse on the correct cooling down procedure (if there is one) after a bit of a Sunday run out?

The beer fridge is bigger than the kitchen fridge I occasionally let her put food in it


But i expect fat boys fridge is shinier than mine & has a spoiler

OP I drive sensibly after hooning (easy across Cheesterfield) so the diff & brakes have chance to cool down, and then just flick the fans on for the last few miles before it goes in the garage. It's just really a matter of trying to get things cooled to the extent that any heatsoak won't do any damage (like shortening life of components).

I always go easy for the last 2 or 3 miles back to home, trying to stay off the brakes to let them cool.
When I park it in the garage I switch off the engine but switch the ignition back on if the fans were running and lift the bonnet. This is in an attempt to push the residual heat out of the engine bay and stop the heatsoak cooking the anciliaries.
I also leave it in gear, handbrake off to stop the brakes binding.

I have wired my fans to an override switch, so switch them on as I get close to home. This combined with the airflow as the car trundles along tends to cool the temp down from 85-90 to about 75 degrees. I also usually park it in the garage with the bonnet up to get rid of the heat from the exhausts, rather than let them heat soak everything.

Yep that's me along with Martys ideas a fan override switch is a good call mine is also wired into a led so i also know when the fans are running at any time

Mine has a very useful automatic timed fan overun circuit fitted that allows it to keep running the fans for a while after the ignition is off, if needed (via otter switch). Basically the same set up as a modern car and combined with the 2 speed fans that mine also has it is a very effective modification.
