paint and lacquer for Rocker covers

I'm about to refurb my rocker covers and I'm planning on a mix of polished and black. So I need to find a suitable paint and lacquer that can cope with the heat. Any suggestions?

Yep, VHT Engine Enamel aerosol. One can will do a pair of rocker covers; the purple stuff thats currently in place can be removed very easily. The VHT is much more enduring and needs to be baked in the oven for a period of time.

I painted mine black but didn't lacquer anything. The raised area I wet 'n' dried back to the metal but, be warned, it took me some time as it has good resistance to abrasion.

I have a Starmist Green Griff.. so painted the rockers BRG.. wanted a change from the purple. Used VHT too.. worked fine and looks really good.

Do spent the time to sand back the raised parts of the rockers.. it's time well spent

Very nice Lindsay, that's exactly as mine look but in Black. I guess you baked yours on too? Rubbing the raised surface back to the alloy is a job in itself because it really is tough stuff. I didn't lacquer the bare alloy as it's quality is sufficiently good to prevent rapid oxidation and looks nice after a bit of a buffing.

I used the VHT on my sump too.
