New carpets help needed

I am going to tackle the job of replacing the carpets on my griff 500 as they are looking a little tatty now. I have bought a full set from coverdale which arrived today. I am pretty sure there was a guide on The Griffith Pages but unfortunatley the website seems to be having problems and I can't seem to find anything but the home page (been like that for the last couple of days days. Does anyone know if there is another place to look or if The Griffith Pages is likley to be up and running again before the weekend.

If you cannot get the info from the Griffith pages and need help, mail me, as I re carpeted my 500 a while back and may be able to answer your queries.
A few tips: 1. Make sure you have plenty of the Coverdale spray on glue its very good but you use a fair bit
2. I found their spray glue remover a waste of time, white spirit worked very much better even on dry glue
3. You need to remove both the central whale tail and the whole hood assembly otherwise its very awkward
4. Be very careful in stripping off the old carpet unless you intend also replacing the under felt, as the felt(rubber type material) rips easily
5. I also removed the dash as the veneered bit was also being replaced but you may manage without doing this

Chris... By the front of the door there is seam... take note of how this is done... It is possable to cut it short here if you don't take care... also the seat belt mounts... you think you've got it 100% and then you bolt in the seat belt reals... and it pulls it down again this could give you a gap under the flap things if you've cut it short... and ensure you don't cut of the bindings where they go under door rubbers etc... you need to cut the carpet but leave an extra 1" of trim / binding so they can be tucked in and hold things like access flaps etc....
Also, check the base piece over the diff... I had 3 goes at my piece before I got one that fit.. Their pattern appeared to go in a bit here in the middle, where as my body is a nice arc (I thought these things came out the same moulds??)
Finally... use the right glue.. I got the Wicks / Band Q carpet adhesive and it's not great (although removal if ness will be a lot easier than the orig stuff!)
One more point... start with the top seatbelt area as these overlap each other a lot.. note when your taking them off as it's not obvious.. and work forward... I'm only a mile away if you want to look at one... have fun!!!

Well all was going great until i tried undoing the n/s lower seatbelt anchor bolt and snap the head came off so I have spent most of tonight trying to get the thing out without much luck. So it looks like its going to need drilling and tapping tomorrow. So much for getting the trim finished this weekend.

hi, im desperately waiting for the griffith pages to be back up and running as i have a big box of carpet for my griff 500 waiting to be fitted but as the old carpets were rotten and came up in handfulls, i dont know where 60% of them go. i see from earlier post, Englishman says he wrote the article in TGP. PPPLLLEEEAAAASSSSEEEE could you email me the word doc. i was hoping to crack on this week. any help appreciated.
David did send me the file but unfotunatley once the job was finished I didnt keep it. But I dought it would help you identify which peice goes where. If you lived a little closer I would have bobbed over to help.
Most of the pieces are obvious where they go, but it does get a little tricky at the rear where there are quite a few smaller pieces. If you sort out the ones you know then post pics of the ones your unsure about I or someone else will try point you in the right direction.
