help with imobiliser

Hi all
Hope somebody can help as all of a sudden the bullet jobby on the side of the
column (by the key) has stopped working. The little red light is on but it does
not go out when i touch it with the transponder. So the fuel pump does not prime.
Any help would be gratefully accepted. As the car now has a cat one alarm i do
not even need it anymore! Can i bypass it.
It is a "COBRA 0802T"

Yep, but it could take you a full day (or more) and you’ll need to get pretty intimate with your wiring. It’s a lot more than just removing the bullet jobby and shorting out a few wires.

Don’t expect anyone to post on a public forum with instruction on how to do this though...

Carl Baker is the man for that. He is based in the South Downs so it depends where you are. Either search his name on here or google car and bike installations.

Be careful before you start butchering your security system. Any bypass would have to be a "needs must" one time temporary measure. The light staying constant does sound like it is the immobilizer that has the problem. If you are advised by someone that you will need a complete new system ££££ it's probably not true but dealing with the problem does need a specialist.

I don’t believe that the Cobra system you have is a standard fit. It’s normally Fox Guard on the older cars and META on the rest. My point being, probably only the installers or a specialist like Carl Baker will be able to help you.

This is where having a fully updated profile with location etc can help,as then someone might be able to suggest an alarm specialist local to yourself to give assistance.
