Early dash gauges with black bezels ………

Are there silver / alloy bezels available for the early black rimed gauges ?

If so where from ?

Dont know of any available, but it doesn't take much to polish the paint off and expose the steel bezel.

Are they sunken (ETB & SW are IIRC?) I'd scope in the work removing / replacing the 'sunken' gauges in that case ..they're a bit more fiddly than the gauges that 'sit on' the dash panel.

(I took the easy way out & didn't recess mine when I redesigned my dash )

I seem to remember Wargriff polished his Pre-Cat black guages and what a great job he did too because I asked him where he got the new bezels from.

Threefishorange has also polished his to a shiny finish.....

Yes Ant is right. My original dials were black, but I very carefully started to remove the paint with panel wipe and a fine grade scotch pad, being careful not to scratch the glass. Especially the clock face as it's plastic. Then all I did is polish them up using auto sol.

Mine are polished too. I got lucky though and the previous owner did the hard work. They do look great even if I do say so myself
