Top screen seal

The top screen seal has been changed.
Unfortunately, the new one - coming from Multi Parts - is a bit less wide. It measures only 1" inch wide.
The old upper screen seal was 1.4" wide.
Racetech informed me that the model they have is also only 1" wide, "this is the only one that has been remade, TVR probably used something that was around the factory untill they ran out, then changed it for the 1" type".
Do you know where I can find such wider screen seal ?
Is it easy to refit the old one ? Is it glued ? I hope it is not necessary to remove the entire windscreen.

In fact, the new seal was sold by David Gerald.They said they have supplied literally hundreds of these( including fitting them here without a problem ) and in fact they make the stuff and supply it to all TVR dealers via Multi part ( who in conjunction with TVR ) checked and approved the product.
For sure, the discrepancy is small but annoying.
Is it easy to refit the old one ?

indeed the remanufactured seals don't have the same shape and I tried to find one of the old ones in GB and Germany, but no NOS.
Last week we fitted a new screen to a Chimaera (same screen and seals as on Griff) and were lucky to be able to use the old seal. I was able to loosen the old seal gently step by step without widening it at the corners.
The minor width of the new seals only has effect to the overlapping of the screen itself, not so to the rear edge, where it seals to the targa roof. So if a new has to be used, because the old seal couldn't be rescued, the windscreen should be mounted a little bit higher to make sure the seal masks the upper window edge.
The lower seal is fine and can be taken without hesitation.

More precisely I would like to know if putting back the old seal will require to remove the windscreen or not ?
In other words, is it easy to reinstall the older seal without removing the windscreen ?
I don't know why my trimmer doesn't feel capable to remove the new screen seal. Is it a tricky job ?

Any job is potentially tricky; it all depends if someone has been at it previously and how well the existing trim has been fitted. But, in most cases, the top trim does (and should) come off. Personally, I would say it's not a DIY job, unless you know all the pitfalls of the task ahead and, more importantly, how to avoid them.
