Is the Griff and Chim exhaust the same (rear section??)

Here’s a question… I did a bit of off-roading last year (un-intentional) that resulted in the rear SS bits of the exhaust pipes getting dinted on the underside slightly…

Although you don’t notice this unless you look, I know it’s there and would like to rectify the situation if at all possible. I’ve tried a few folk (where has JP Exhausts gone??) but they want a small fortune for new ones and for what it is, I’m not prepared to pay that much.

So, I’ve been looking on E-bay for an old system that I can cut up or something… There are a few Chim exhausts on there at the moment… The question is, are these the same exhaust (or at least end bit’s) as the Griff coz they look the same in the pic’s? After all the Wheelbarrow comments I’d assumed they had a different system but maybe it’s just hidden under that huge back bit?? Does anyone know?

The tail pipes are quite different.

JP are still at Macclesfield where they have always been, I know somebody has had work done by them within the last few weeks

Are they.. they look the same.. just wondered if the Griff ones were welded at more of an angle but using the same ends?... (2 1/2" 1.2mm wall)
Tried JP via phone / mail and web site yesterday... Nothing?.. will try again

Ideally I need to find an old unit that's gone on the box but the ends are okay.. and re-weld them onto my system that otherwise is very good condition..

did get e'm in the end... sounds like their server was down yesterday so no comm's... but again a tad expensive...
does anyone have an old Griff exhaust that's knackered but with good SS end bit's?.. if so please let me know... cheers!

Nearest B&Q i would have thought,saw a great deal on wheel barrows there the other day,they might even sell the handles on their own......

How strange.. this was on E-bay last week.. starting price £95.. no one bid on it so I asked if he was open to offers... Yes he said, but only over £110!!... so he wanted offers above his selling price!
I said I'd pay his starting price but no more (£95)
It's now on at £85?? and on top of this he'll have to pay e-bay and pay pal so end result £80 if it goes for this?? strange bloke indeed?
It has some dint's in the end (the bit's I want)so I didn't bother taking it further although I'm assured they will knock out?? also the silencer is holed at the front?

O well.. I'll keep an eye on it.. see if it goes this time around!...

Hi John I have a full straight through system in my garage thats not doing anything. It has a couple of 2mm holes drilled into the very end of the tailpipes where the last owner had track day silencers fitted. I'm sure you could cobble a good system out of the two. If your interested you can have it for £50.
