Jammed passanger door handle

My outside passanger door handle has always been a bit tighter than the driver's side but just gone out to open the car (first drive out this year ) and the passanger door handle is completely jammed.

Car has been in a garage most of winter but was outside for about 2 months late last year.

Anyone got any ideas why it is jammed or what to do about it?

Have a look at whats going on at the actual door mechanism.
Push and tip the passenger seat forward and lift the flap of carpet directly behind the door catch.
It could be it just needs oiling, or maybe adjusting. But its a fairly simple mechanism when you get to looking at it.

Is it the plunger itself thats solid and wont move? as when the car is locked,there should still be downward movement of the knob,so if thats stuck maybe some releasing oil down the shaft may free it off,if its the lock mechanism then as previously said,a quick look might easily reveal the source of the problem,i had to mess about in the passenger side lock area when i fitted the remote boot release last year,and its pretty straight forward in its operation.

Thanks all I'll take a peek, it is the handle on the outside that is jammed. The door opens from the inside as good as gold.

Once mine frozen down when I opened it when the car was covered in frost. It took a few miles before 'defrosting' and the button popped back up, the point of telling you was that the catch would also not work and drove holding the door shut. As your internal handle works to open the door you may have something a bit more complex than just a stuck button?
