Stone chips.......................

A problem for all of us I know!! Not keen on fitting the armourshield plastic stuff (had it on my Tuscan S but it started to look really tired and tacky) - there are several indents that have been covered over in the past by the looks of it and I would like to sand down and fill them flush, prior to a touch-up respray, as oppossed to leaving like that. What filler is recommended and any pit falls to aviod?

If you havent got a clue of what to do.. leave it alone your do more damage than good,, Just my opinion < but i do own a body shop & wouldnt touch a car after some one has bodged it,, sorry to sound blunt.

As above if you've no experience in bodywork then leave well alone. I know a lot of bodyshops and they all like to do their own prep, so if any reticulation or reaction occurs they know it's thier fault and not someone elses.

But if you have then I'd go with stopper for the really tiny bits, and then noting wrong with regular filler for the rest, just make sure you sand it and finish it properly, then the rest is in the spraying.

I believe there is a sort of elastic primer that can be used, which helps.

My Griff had a respray around 4 years ago, to get rid of some big dings, now justa starting to get a little rough on the corner, but at leat their my stone chips.

Sadly while it is sad to see our pride and joy picking up stone chips. But other than not driving it there's not much we can do. I regularly go over mine with touch up paint which being a Mica Blue car with a light colour undercoat looks a lot better afterwards. My neibour said why do you bother it's fibreglass? Either he's missing the point - or I am!
