Air Con Parts

Hi,

I want to take the Griff on hol on the continent at some time in the future - alpine passes and all that. In order that we dont cook in the event that I need to have the roof up, I want to fit air con into it and am after parts for it (and no I'm not pissed). I have read a couple of threads which dont reckon much to the heater/aircon box design, so I'm possibly going to use an aftermarket one instead.

The TVR parts sellers do most of the obvious parts, but I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that one of them wanted £500 for the compressor. Would anyone know what vehicle TVR sourced these from originally? Are they Rover/Land Rover?

If anyone can point me in the direction of some second hand parts I would also be grateful. Thanks.

I have a couple of AC comps...they are TVR ones...and yes they are £500+ new.
They R/Rover equivalents are the same.

Mine came off cars that are now racers, so drop me a line if you want one and no I don't want £500.

These are a nice unit & work well i have one in my P4 not had the heater out of the Griff but i bet it is bigger than these units

Thats one of the beasties I've been looking at. It aint cheap either and I could lose the fans off the back of it as long as I could keep the original fan in place in the footwell.

Drier / receiver etc also P38 range rover I belive. Fuel cooler is Jaguar

I have the complete original TVR / Rover kit removed working from an AC Griff if you are interested - one of my last years projects that I never got round to doing & probally wont for various reasons.
Includes - Fan heater, evaporator & matrix box to replace the non AC one, condensor rad with brackets, compressor, all flex pipework with terminations, dryer etc.

I was going to advertise eventually but you can email a sensible offer if you are interested.
