Tried to source a stainless exhaust for my car. The usual came up JP or ACT.
I think I've found someone who will make the system either from a jig or pattern off an old one.
Would there be anyone else out there looking for a system? Reason being he might well give discount for a few orders..... just a thought.

Just fitted a cherry bomb from ACT and you don,t get a better sound or made exhaust 
nothing just wanted a noisy oneI had a ACT stainless exhaust on my Pre-Cat with four exit pipes,excellent quality and a wonderful sound with popping on the overrun
but not too noisy as to give you headache on a long run. Its been on the car for more than six years and it still looks great (see sad day for Green Meanie for a picture).

Quinny, thanks for the reply, the car is running with both the pre-cats and the main cats out and upon purchase i was told the car was running a sports exhaust, but since having the car up on the ramp it looks standard with just some work done to the silencer box maybe! I love the noise but feel it could be crisper and less how can i put it? echo like but i think thats just the empty standard main cat/ was looking at changing the Y piece[prefer clives to the ACT one on looks] and maybe the manifolds as well as i'm planning on an Austec engine re-build, just was not sure if the ACT was different to the offord etc in sound or because the tube diameter is the same so are the end results? I've no issues with noise:]

The general options are:Standard System - Straight through system, with peforated pipes and something like 18"-24" silencer.
ACT/JP sports system - As above, but with a smaller silencer
ACT Cherry Bomb System - Twin 12" Cherry Bomb (bullet) silencers around each pipe. These have perforated pipe inside.
Sleeved - A standard silencer with the perforated pipes removed and replaced with soild pipes. Sometimes the wadding is also removed.
There are others out there, but these are the common ones.
Sound is dependent on a lot of factors, but mainly whether you have the PreCats in or not. If you remove these the volume will increase a lot. Not sure about the main Cat, but a full decat is loud.
Other factors are: displacement, head work cam, iginiton.
Some find (myself included) find the sleeved systems very agricultral and raspy, espcially at low revs.
Personally I prefer the Cherry Bomb system, which is ince at cruising speeds and howls when you put your foot down. But it is loud. Static at 3/4 revs 1.5m my car measured 116dB. Peaks at a lot more. Having said that, my car is a PreCat, with trick heads, ACT manifolds. Also being a youn(ish)'un I like the noise
Have a look on PHTV and search ACT Cherry Bomb for a few drive by sound clips.
