Clicky starter solenoid question

Just started getting the dreaded clicky starter solenoid probably every 1 in 5 key turns. Happens cold and hot. It is a single click coming from underneath, not several chatter type clicks. Battery is on an optimate and is showing plenty of volts.
I get all the priming and ignition lights always with no issue. Took motor off today and made sure all contacts were clean, but no difference. Before I buy a new motor, does this sound as if it is that?

Have read lots of posts on here about them on Chim and Griff pages. But did not come up with an answer as to if there is a tell tale sign to be absolutley sure it is the motor and not something else? As far as I can tell all earth points are good. Alarm and immobiliser appear good also. Relays in footwell all seated nicely. Don't want to waste money on new motor unless I have too obviously

I only ask as it is up for sale and want to sort ASAP so potential buyers don't walk when it fails to fire up first go. Sod's law it has started happening now, grrrr!

There is a fix called Clicky-starter quick fix kit, on the web clicky-starter(dot)com

Speak to Carl Baker - he can tell you how to bypass the immob - that will allow you to see if thats the problem. Similar thing happened to me - the ignition would come on, pump would prime, but no start. Turns out one of the two circuits in the immob was flakey

mine has been a bit clicky ever since i had it, but it has never failed to start. mine has the relay mod but it seems this doesn't help matters. mine clicks hot or cold.
