Cooper fuel line to braided ??

Anyone replaced the copper fuel lines and gone braided all the way through ?, if so what hose did you use ? Why did they use copper ? cost ?

Email Paul - Number 7 - I know he's done his whole wedge and been running like that for years including constant pressure valves.

Cost I'd suggest, durability perhaps, easier to work more likely . . .

Why would you replace something that will last many many years with something that is perishable and has a short shelf life and worse still you cannot see that it has a problem.

I just use braided where flexability is needed.

Problem is i am changing to larger fuel pump and aftermarket fuel filter !! would like to keep the copper and go braided to copper, copper to braid at the fuel rail. Ill have a trip to Pirtek to see what they suggest.

Have you been under and looked at the routing of the copper lines

Its all very tight between chassis and body and I wouldn't think you will get the much thicker braided pipe to fit in a lot of the run.

I replaced my copper while I had the body lifted because it was an ideal opportunity. I considered braided hoses but forgot the idea when I looked at the routes and the original stuff I took off was in surprisingly good nick so it was an easy decision to make.
Check copper will withstand the pressure you want to use and stick with copper if you can, you'll save yourself a lot of grief.

Im about to replace the copper on mine. Is it any particular special stuff or just the kind you find in B&Q plumping section...

Is it 8mm????

tried a few times but just engadged. So anyone else have any idea if its just standard copper pipe i.e. B&Q stylee Cant see it being different TBH.

Bog standard copper from a plumbers merchant went on mine. Just need to flare the ends and make sure you use proper fuel hose clips not jubilee clips.
