Hpw much is this going to cost ?

Ok refitting bracket on gearbox and the top bolt onto the white bracket feels as if the thread is stripping, its sort of nipped up, its got loctite in it and i dont want to keep tighting it , is it worth getting it sorted or try it as it is ??? Worse case what to reckon its going to cost for a helicoil ? more worrying what is involved ?, a strip down ?

I used to fit 200+ helicoils a day Nige, I've got the taps and some free running inserts in the garage somewhere still. Gimme a shout and I'll do it for you

Yup. TBH if you can tap a hole you can put an insert in

Through hole M10, do I need to get anything ?

Stand to be corrected, but helicoil = drill out to tapping size for insert = swarf, tap out=swarf, snap tang off(to be fair you can get away with this)=tang into gearbox??? Or do you have some different inserts and are just using a generic name. I used to use some other inserts without a tang but can't remember the name, but they had 4 pins to secure them(American crap)

There is a special insert tool which retains the tang. I'll have a look at what I've got in the garage...

Is that an inspection plate I can see in he pic? Would certainly be easier if you could get to the back of the hole.
