Stepper motor part number?

Just discovered that the threaded end of my stepper motor has cracked where it joins the main body, probably through being over-tightened or too much PTFE tape.

New from various dealers, price is around £110-£120. Does anyone know the Lucas part no? Rimmer Bros. have two in stock (at much lower price) that look the same but they can't cross reference the nos. to check that it's what TVR used.

Any help much appreciated.

Just bog standard Landrover parts, you dont need to to pay those prices. There apear to be two types, but I cant tell you the difference, as they are physically the same. I can vouch the £75 will fit the TVR's. There are some cheap ones on Ebay that come from China, some work, some dont.

I wouldn’t recommend these guys Mark, the one i brought was duff (no locking keyway) it took 4 weeks to get a refund minus about £8 postage their returns policy is bks, their argument was its not meant to be used on a TVR.????

Thanks for these latest replies chaps. Famous Four, like Rimmer Bros. both do two stepper motors at similar prices. Neither firm know which one TVR use, Rimmers want the Lucas part no. and F/Four the equivalent L/Rover vin code. All I know is that the TVR part no. is EO121.

Am nervous about not using exactly the right part so perhaps I should bite the bullet and go to a TVR dealer (though I do wonder if their parts are exact replicas or just ones 'that fit the hole'.

Up to you, but its still a Landrover part, TVR did not do special bits for these, and all seem to be the same from the early 1990's 3.9 litre and larger capacities onwards. Its possible the thread became metric around then. You should be able to quote an engine number off the side of the block to any of the suppliers to be 100% sure.

I have just cleaned up the outside of my stepper today and refitted it - there are some numbers visible I'll have a look tomorrow.
