The battery terminal came loose on my Griff, and although it didn't stop, it made some very strange noises when starting. Going to investigate today, found the immobiliser and alarm seem to be out of sync, everying works, but the immobiliser won't disarm.

I've tried disconnecting the battery (hence I found the loose battery terminal) but still no joy. The forum pointed me in the direction of Carl Baker, but from the german mobile message he seems to be away.

Any thing else I can try?

have you tried resetting as per the instructions in the owners hand book?

I’ve had problems over the years, but not for a while and lost a few brain cells since so I cant be sure, So…

Disconnect the car battery and remove the battery from the remote. Wait a few minutes and reconnect the car battery, but make sure it’s a clean firm reconnection, don’t let it connect then disconnect and connect again, difficult to do I know, just be firm.

Note this will also reset your ECU.

Replace the battery in the remote well away from the car. Then try it…

My manual does not contain any reset information, just says use the contact key, which I have tried and they don't work. They may have not worked before, in future I will periodically check them. The manual also talks about the car having an exterior door release button under the mirror, cerbara style! I also have the original leaflets for the alarm and immomiliser, but they are no help either.

Carl Baker is on his way home from my house, the old immobiliser is in the bin, and i've got two new key fobs!

I’m in the process of putting my Griff back together and sure enough the alarm would not respond to key fobs (I’d let the battery go flat).

Therefore after charging I did as stated, disconnected the car battery and the fob battery waited and reconnected car then fob away from the car and it all works again.

So if this didn’t work for you then it looks like you made the right decision.
