Engine breather.

I just notice the cap and foam filter at the rear of the rocker cover is missing. I dont suppose sourcing them is difficult?
However the remaining bit which looks like a flat round piece of metal with a small hole in the middle is very dry and looks blocked up. How do I service this and whats involved? How do I get it out and check/clean it?

It does pull out but not easily. You could try soaking in WD40 over night.

Once out, you might get a fine needle through it (it's very fine) but probably just a good blow will clear it.

Thanks Dave - this feels awfully tight, it doesnt feel like it will budge even with a crow bar!! definately not threaded then?

Interference fit. Probably some electrolytic corrosion bonding it in too

No, definitely not threaded. I took mine out about a month ago. Lots of WD soked for a few days.

Hi,just work it back and to with a pair of grips while levering it up at same time.When you put the new one in don't knock it in too far because the stem will bottom out on a plate in the rocker cover blocking the hole and preventing breathing.Hope this helps.
