Griffith Meta M99/M36T2 Alarm / Immobiliser

Hi guys

I hope someone can help me with a problem i have with my immobiliser on the griff

recently the car was left for a month whilst i was away working and my battery went flat.

i have now fitted a new battery, but when i disarm the alarm the car stays immobilised and i have to use the "emergency contact key" to disarm it before i can start it up.

before the batt went flat it worked fine, when i pressed the remote, the alarm and immobiliser both disarmed and the car started fine.

it really is a pain always having to use the overide key.

can anyone help with how to "learn" the immobiliser to work correctly..or have i just not done something simple when i fitted the new battery ?

Don't know unfortunately. May be worth resetting the alarm/immobiliser again by disconeecting the earth terminal on the battery again.

If that doesn't work it may have gone faulty. Best person to chat with is Carl Baker what he doesn't know about TVR alarms isn't worth knowing.

I’m sure you need to take the battery out of the remote at the same time. Worth a try if it doesn’t work as is.

Follow the instructions for resetting in your service manual - I can scan a copy if you want one. i have emailed you the operator instructions for the M99t2/m36t2 meta alarm. Had exactly the same problem but evential managed to reset the system and now it works fine

I had the same on my car.. and it was a plug that had come out between 2 units…. This is not uncommon so don’t dismiss it… They are behind the radio / glove box area so you’ll need to take these out to see them.. even them you'll need to be on your head with arms up inside the dash!!… It’s a green plug I think joins the 2 units together… When unplugged I had to use my key fob thing to start the car… Plugged it back in… and no problem… Have a look… I know of at least 3 people who’s had this issue… The wires are pulled tight and eventually it just comes out…
