Near miss with the fuel pipes

Decided today to check the old Griff over in preparation for it's MOT on Tuesday, this may have happened to you guys before, but just in case you have not had this experience, having brought a service kit with a fuel filter in, I dived under the back to change it and was greeted by what you can see in the photos!

Don't think the fuel filter has ever been changed in its 18 years or that the pipes would have lasted much longer, let alone what would have happened to the car if the leak had hit the hot exhaust.

So just to be safe check your fuel pipes at the back guys

Feed and return? I missed the return and had to do it at the roadside when it started leaking!

ok after a few weeks of research, i am replacing the copper with Goodridge hardwall, then all other pipes will be goodridge 810 XF hose, all fittings will be threaded instead of clamped, ill post a pic when I have it done.

Me either. One thing I do know now is that it's ideally placed to spray fuel vapour on the O/S manifold when it starts to go!!! Oh, and it's a bd to do as the copper line wanders about when you try to slide the flexible hose over it
